July was a very busy month and it looks like the famously hot Arkansas August is setting in nicely. We held two CD release parties in July. The first was for a "Standing Room Only" crowd at the Whitewater Tavern! We want to thank Matt and all the good people that work at the Tavern and all those that came out to support our first release. The folks at the WWT have a long history of supporting Arkansas music and musicians….It's always a pleasure playing their venue.
The second release party was our "No-smoking Release" at the Afterthought. We had a great time and got to see a room full of faces that we didn't see for our first release show. Hopefully you caught us at one of these venues and were able to pick up a CD. If not we want to tell you about a couple of places here in Little Rock where you can pick one up. Bill and Snake over at AR Record and CD Exchange have been big supporters of Runaway Planet and our music and have been kind enough to carry both CD's at their store over in North Little Rock. Here in Little Rock you can pick up at CD at DamGoode Pies. That's right….DamGoode Pies is selling our CD. You can stop by either the Cantrell or Kavanaugh location and get a great pizza and what you will hopefully think is a great CD.
For the month of August we are taking the show on the road. Tuesday we are heading over to Hot Springs to tape a radio show that will air this Sunday on The Rocket 101.9fm. The show is the Unknown Legends Music Hour with David Hughes. The show will air Sunday the 10th from 6 to 7pm. Listen in! On August 16th we will be back at Maxine's for our Hot Springs CD release party and then on the 23rd we will be playing a Eureka Springs release show at the Lumberyard. It's the big Bluegrass Festival that weekend in Eureka Springs so it should be a great time for music all over town. We hope to see you there.
The new CD "Tarnation" will be available via iTunes shortly. Steve Jobs has promised us he is working non-stop so that our fans can download "Tarnation" from the convenience of home. We'll keep you posted.
Thanks for all the support. We'll see you out there.
